UNIT 5: FASHION THROUGH THE AGES

VOCABULARY:

  • GARMENTS (prendas) - CLOTHING (la ropa) - ACCESSORIES : cape, ruff, tunic, wig, waistcoat ...kilt, 
  • MATERIALS:cotton, acrylic, leather, silk, fur, wool, nylon, .. fabric (tejido)  /CLOTH (tela) - 
  • CLOTHING ELEMENTS to describe: 
    • SHOES:  pointy toes - lace -  high heel - platform - ribbon -  buttons - zip.
    • FABRIC / CLOTH:  
      • a dot dress 
      • a striped pyjama
      • a flowered blouse
      • a tartan - mini  skirt
      • flowy - tight trousers
      • a knitted sweater
  • CLOTHING VERBS: 
    • TIE your shoes!
    • HUNG UP your coat on one hunger!
    • PUT ON your jacket. It's cold outside!
    • It's too hot in her. You are sweating! please, TAKE your hoodie OFF in class! 
    • It is raining! please, WEAR a raincoat or CARRY your umbrella!
    • Hurry up! You have just  10 minutes to GET DRESSED for school!
    • the opposite to get dressed is to GET UNDRESSED. It means take off your clothes
    • BUTTON /UNBUTTON your shirt!
    • ZIP UP - ZIP DOWN the zipper
