The pronunciation of – ED, depends on the final consonant of the verb.

  • If this verb ends with a T or D so the final -ed is pronunciated /id/
  • If the verb ends with a voiceless consonat (no vibration consonants: k,s,sh,ch, f, p) so the -ed is pronunciated /t/
  • If the verb ends with a voiced consonant ( consonants that vibrate: the others ) so the -ed is pronunciated /d/
